Description
A chain block, also known as a chain hoist or chain fall, is a manual lifting device that uses a chain to lift and lower heavy loads.
A chain block with a 1.5-ton capacity is designed to lift loads weighing up to 3,000 pounds (1,361 kilograms).
– Capacity: 1.5 tons (3,000 pounds or 1,361 kilograms)
– Lift height: Typically ranges from 10 to 20 feet (3 to 6 meters)
– Load chain diameter: Usually 6 millimeters or 7 millimeters
– Number of load chain falls: Usually 1 (referring to the number of chains that support the load)
– Hand chain length: Usually 2 to 3 feet (0.6 to 0.9 meters)
– Load chain material: Usually alloy steel
– Chain block material: Usually steel
– Hook type: Usually top and bottom hooks made of forged steel with safety latches to prevent accidental disengagement
– Gear ratio: Typically 4:1, meaning that for every four feet of hand chain pulled, the load chain will move one foot
– Standards: Chain blocks may be designed and manufactured to meet various standards, such as ASME B30.16, EN 13157, or ISO 9001.
